SRINAGAR (JAMMU & KASHMIR): The mortal remains of the newly recruited sub-inspector Arshid Ahmad Mir, who misplaced his life in the terror assault in Srinagar on Sunday, arrived at his home in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara for his very last rites on Sunday evening.
On Sunday afternoon, terrorists attacked a police get together at Khanyar in Outdated Srinagar City, in which Mir was shot by terrorists in Khanyar and later on he succumbed to his accidents.
“Shri Arshid Ahmad Mir, Probation Sub- Inspector was critically hurt in a cowardly assault of terrorists at Khanyar in Srinagar. He was shifted to medical center where he left for heavenly abode,” tweeted Jammu and Kashmir police.

Reacting to the incident, Jammu and Kashmir DGP, Dilabag Singh claimed that “We have shed a courageous young officer. He was studying the nuances of policing. It is a pretty tragic reduction for us and his family members. We convey our deepest condolences. Perpetrators concerned in this case have been determined and they will be introduced to justice.”
Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha also condemned the act. “I strongly condemn the brutal killing of our courageous-coronary heart Law enforcement Officer Arshad Ashraf Mir by terrorists. This is a handiwork of enemies of humanity and peace. His supreme sacrifice won’t go in vain, terrorists will be punished for the act. Heartfelt condolences to the martyr’s family members,” tweeted Sinha.
Afterwards in the working day, a wreath-laying ceremony for the law enforcement personnel was held at District Police Traces Srinagar. DGP Dilbag Singh led senior officers of law enforcement, paramilitary forces, Civil, Central Armed Law enforcement Forces (CAPF) officers and family paid floral tributes to SI Arshid Ahmad Mir.
