Delhi Capitals, the table-toppers in the league stage of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) have suffered a blip in their last two games, losing both in the final over as they have rued the inability to close out tight games but they will look to amend it in Qualifier 2.
However, the Capitals will face the form side, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who beat them in a close game in Sharjah, the last time these two sides a couple of weeks ago. KKR have won all their three games at this venue and with their trio of spinners, they have choked the opponents in the middle overs on the slow surface and the Capitals would want to keep them at bay.
Delhi Capitals, who have changed their fortunes since their rebranding and the change in name in 2019 have had an advantage over the Kolkata side winning three out of the last five encounters, while the men in purple have won two.

The Kolkata Knight Riders and the Delhi Capitals have faced each other 28 times in the 13 seasons since the inception of the IPL in 2008 and the men in purple and gold have won 15 games, while the Delhi Capitals have won 11 of the 28 encounters between the two sides, with one being abandoned due to rain.
The two sides faced each other twice and won one game each. Prithvi Shaw blew away the Kolkata Knight Riders in the first fixture between the two sides in Ahemdabad where he hit six fours off Shivam Mavi in the first over and played an explosive innings of 82 runs off just 41 balls and in the reverse fixture KKR defeated the Capitals in a close game by three wickets after restricting them to 127/9.
Gautam Gambhir leads the most runs list
Former Kolkata Knight Riders and the then Delhi Daredevils skipper and batter, Gautam Gambhir is the leading run-scorer in the DC vs KKR clashes over the years, scoring 569 runs. Gambhir is followed by ex-Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer with 426 runs against KKR.
Sunil Narine is the leading wicket-taker
Kolkata Knight Riders mystery spinner Sunil Narine is the leading wicket-taker in DC vs KKR clashes with 22 scalps. Narine is followed by former KKR and current Delhi Capitals pacer, Umesh Yadav, who has 21 wickets to his name in this fixture, while star all-rounder Andre Russell is third on the list with 13 wickets having played for both franchises.
